A unique and beautiful collaborative framework in Amami. Multiple distilleries unite under a single enterprise for bottling and distribution to ensure quality stability and expand market channels. By combining the unique distillates under master blenders, the spirits achieve unmatched depth and consistency.
*The "25 Breweries" designated by the Amami Oshima Shochu Association refers to the 25 licensed distilling locations, not the count of bottling companies.
Amami Oshima
The largest island in the Amami archipelago. It hosts the highest concentration of breweries, producing a wide variety of brands. The island brings together the best of craftsmanship, from traditional clay-pot fermentation to the latest acoustic aging technologies.
Machida Shuzo
Established vacuum distillation as the new standard with their signature brand "Sato no Akebono".
Yayoi Shuzo
Founded in 1922. One of the oldest active breweries in the Amami Oshima island.
Tomita Shuzo
Brews the iconic brand "Ryugu". Their traditional clay-pot fermentation delivers a beautifully deep and complex flavor.
